2020 SSRMHC 3 Day Gaited Charity Event
at the Ocala Horse Park
Oh yes, the little club that could is hosting the Second Annual 3 Day Gaited Charity Event. The dates this year are Thursday, February 27th through Saturday, February 29th at the Florida Horse Park in Ocala. Once again, our Charity for this Event is Operation 300 and once again, every rider will be riding specifically for a fallen hero. This Event features a Clinic and Organized Trail Ride on Thursday, two Sanctioned “B” Rocky Mountain Horse Shows on Friday and Saturday with additional classes added throughout the weekend for Open Gaited Breeds, Tennessee Walking Horses, Peruvians, Missouri Foxtrotters, Pasos, Mountain Horses, Racking Horses and Spotted Saddle Horses. Our focus on Saturday morning is the Youth! Any youth, with ANY Breed of Horse is invited!
THURSDAY: We are pleased to welcome back one of last years judges, Alece Ellis, for a Gaited Dressage and Working Equitation Clinic from 12pm to 6pm.
Alece holds multiple judging cards for various gaited breeds including RMHA Senior judge, MFTHBA and IJA, as well as being a licensed IJA Senior Dressage Judge and North American Western Dressage Judge. Alece teaches riders the importance of equine biomechanics and how to assist the horse to become balanced and supple. This Clinic is limited to 10 riders. Space is filling fast! Contact us soon to reserve your spot.
Also on Thursday is an organized trail ride starting around 2pm at the arena and heading out onto the Greenway.
FRIDAY: Show starts at 10am. 38 Classes with Sanctioned RMHA, OGB, Championships and more!
SATURDAY: A second Sanctioned RMHA show, and special YOUTH Classes! Youth can show all day for $50 or $10/class. There will be a special FOSH award for the Youth Championship. At 12Noon there will be an Armed Services Flag Prsentation with a tribute to Veterans and Operation 300. Right after that is the Parade of Breeds! This day features all the classes for as many gaited breeds as we could fit in! It will be a busy day of horse showing, friendship, tributes and more!
SSRMHC will have a Hospitality Stall again this year AND also a Youth Hospitality Stall that will host a Pizza Party on Saturday at 2pm! All Youth are welcome! Their stall will feature fun and education to help encourage our young exhibitors and future horsemen and women to stay involved with equine sports.
